You’ve just been invited to the Davis Family Retreat – blog style!  

This is Tex the newest member of the Davis posse. I have been appointed as the official spokes person for this here retreat so pony up and let’s git her done here cuz I gotta git on down the road!

Well, we're lettin' the cat outa the bag cuz it's a lot easier than puttin' the darn cat back in there! So here's the details! Many of you have been askin’ “Where the heck is this anyways?” My answer to that question is Timberlake Ranch Camps. This is a Christian ranch camp located on the Platte River somewheres near Marquette Nebraska. Just check out the link!

I’ve been mosey’in around that camp and believe me, I got the skinny on what’s a goin' on. So some of you may be askin' now, "What the heck we gonna do all weekend?" We've got somethin' for just about everyone! There'll be trail rides, swimmin', ropes course, zip line, climbin' wall, frisbee golf, canoes, paddle boats, fishin' and lots of other stuff for the youngins. But we'll let ya know more 'bout that stuff later.

Take an early morning hike around the lake and see wild turkeys, geese, deer and many other critters.

Timberlake is a little bit of a nature lover's paradise. Since it's located right on the Platte River and surrounded completely by nature, you'll git to experience a feeling of a secluded mountain retreat. Without them pesky mountains to git in the way of sunset watchin'. Most mornins at the camp I can catch a glimpse of geese, wild turkeys, and deer. Most city folks like the Franzen clan love to come to this little piece of "forest" for a weekend retreat. 

I hear ya, I hear ya, "Where the heck are we stayin'?" Well those details are still comin' too but Timberlake offers some accomodations that would make ya double yer money, or just fold it and put it back in yer pocket, it'll look doubled anyway. You can have your choice of cabin, RV, tent camping or hotels in Central City but I guar-un-tee a mamby pamby hotel ain't gonna be any fun! All the Davis action will be goin' strong at Timberlake!

I'll keep stickin' my nose in and given' my two cents worth from time to time. The Beginning of the Story...

Well, here begins a new journey for the Davis family! We are up and running on the web! I have turned this thought over and over in my head many times before, to start a blog or not to start a blog. I didn't like the idea of always having to tend to somthing other than my two little ones and the already busy life that we lead. But after considering what a great mode of communication this could be for our family I thought this would be the best time. We would like to use this as a means for communication about the upcoming reunion as well as posting any other exciting information and prayer requests. Facebook has really seemed to bridge the gap between reunions but I would love to a have a place that is just for us. A place to share exciting news, a place to express thanksgiving and a place to share in each others burdens. Keep in mind that I am still learning all of the ins and outs of a blog and we are still trying to figure out how to get your info on the blog. So be patient as we play this by ear.

So...the rest of the story? We went through many ideas for the title of this blog and came up with one of Grandpa's favorites, no not the one you're thinking of, " The S-T-U-P-I-D Blog" but a saying by good ol Paul Harvey! So here begins the rest of the story...
